The 4th Annual “Hear The Music” Mental Health Awareness Golf Classic

Message from Founder and President, Jennifer Ayers-Moore:

On Friday, September 12, 2025 The Friends Of Ayers Foundation will host its 4th Annual Golf Classic at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club.

I have learned that this is a very challenging effort and it takes A LOT of commitment and support. I have the vision and thankfully many others have come to understand the vision and want to help. So I’d like to say “thank you” to all those who have given in someway. Maybe you donated funds, played in the tourney, or volunteered your time. So please know how grateful we are.

FOA is extremely grateful for the sponsorships we received in 2024 from Valor Xpedite, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Callaway Golf, Peach state Golf, Brownsmill Golf Course, Chick-Fil-A, Enzo Restaurant in Trllith, Academy Sports, New City Church, Carl’s Golf Land, Coca Cola and Johnson & Johnson.

We hope that your team will join us this year!

Let me just add this. The first year, I had someone asked me “what does mental health have to do with golf?” I was surprised that the person didn’t get it, but not everyone has first hand experience with a loved one who has a mental health condition or has faced their own challenges. My question was and still is, “why not golf?” Mental health is a part of life it is with us everyday, someone is playing golf everyday the weather permits. Golf is a culture that people participate in routinely. I play golf. So why not make golfers aware? Why not in all sports? That is why I added a fun theme to our 2024 tourney and had the golfers wear their favorite football team’s polo or jersey. It was so much fun! My dream, is to see this tourney grow to host an entire weekend of activities filled with resource information offering families the chance to “speak out” about their experiences and find out how they may be able to get help and support for loved ones or self.

We are also very thankful to The National Alliance on Mental Illness (Henry and Fayette Counties) who have come out to offer mental health information for 3 years straight, in which I gained a new and dedicated friend. Also thanks to Tiny Planet Counseling for coming out their first time (2024) to share information about their counseling services.

Here we go again and we need your help. If you know golfers in the Atlanta area please spread the word to either play, be a sponsor or both. In an event like this sponsorship is crucial. Please contact us by email or call for more information, we look forward to your support.
